Unfortunately, they exist even outside of fairy tales: the villains, trolls, evildoers and bandits. By the way, women and men are equally represented in this diabolical balance. We meet many people in life who are up to no good. They sometimes need others for that, to fulfill their purposes or to abuse them as stooges. Unfortunately, the news and simple statistics show us that evil people really exist. They are not an invention, but live among us. What made them what they are is a question that has occupied science for centuries. There is no simple answer to it. But there are clues that can warn us about them. In this article we present to you 8 distinct characteristics of a person in whose heart holds evil.
1. They are vindictive and resentful.
Taking things in stride is not one of the strong points of evil people, on the contrary. They are masters at feeling antagonized and offended by others. Negative energy is the engine that drives them. If you arouse their displeasure, anger or annoy them just once, you have a sworn mortal enemy for life. They are just as unable to forget an adversity as they are to forgive it. They are extremely thin-skinned and have a penchant for taking comments and even gestures the wrong way. Basically, any means will do to start a private war and indulge in their favorite gloomy pastime. They then live by the motto: "Whoever is not for me is against me." In doing so, they adopt a kind of modern tribalism. Once in a rage, these toxic people are unstoppable.
2. Selfishness and greed drive them on
Evil people don't just do evil things; some of them are perfectly socially acceptable, if highly morally dubious. Greed for profit is literally written all over the faces of some of our dubious fellow human beings. They place an exaggerated value on status, image and the accumulation of material goods. For them, success is synonymous with wealth, and anyone not in their league has no place on the playing field. In business, they walk over dead bodies without hesitation, boot out their competitors by every trick in the book and pull unsuspecting business partners over the barrel. They find every loophole in every law and use every conceivable strategy to get the maximum for themselves. Whoever thinks that these crooks, and they are not exactly rare criminals, will ever get their hands full is mistaken. For them there is never enough, this word does not occur in their linguistic usage. Private relationships have to serve their greed as well as political contacts and the network they have built up over the years.
3. Jealousy and envy are their constant companions.
It is not enough for the rogues to celebrate their own success. There is no question of enjoyment for most of these shady subjects anyway. No, they have to denigrate and talk down the triumphs of others. In doing so, they act with the social behavior of a toddler when someone in their social environment has wins to chalk up or small victories to celebrate. They do not allow anyone a place in the sun, not under any circumstances. There will always be people whose wealth or influence they chafe against. Not owning something that others very much have is a thorn in their side that doesn't go unnoticed there for long. With the maximum amount of criminal energy they are able to muster, they go against adversaries and all people who have aroused their envy and ill-will. They are jealous of everything and everyone in their scope who dares to outshine them, even if only for a brief moment.
4. They are manipulative and controlling.
The villains in life may not be handing out poisoned apples or luring unsuspecting fellow citizens into their gingerbread house, but they still see their contemporaries as puppets rather than equals. The scoundrels among us would prefer a world in which they hold all the strings in their hands. People, institutions, laws and everything worthy of being controlled dangle from their strings. Most toxic personalities bring a neat god complex into the diabolic overall equation of their goings-on anyway. Apart from them, no one has a clue or has a shred of competence. They would love to grab all the levers and buttons to finally have the world dance to their tune.
5. Empathy is completely foreign to them
A person of bad character has a very significant flaw that clearly distinguishes him from the society of the good and the striving. They lack all empathy. The ability to even begin to empathize with others is completely foreign to these individuals. They don't think for a second about whether someone might have good reasons for their actions and what they might be. Compassion and empathy, 2 of the most important traits that make us human, are not even theory for evil contemporaries.
6. They have at least 2 faces
A person of dubious character and with dishonest intentions in his baggage has to invest quite a bit in his facade to achieve his goals. The preferred armor of such toxic characters is to have at least 2 faces, usually several on offer. One of them is charming, eloquent and downright charismatic. It could sell a refrigerator to an Eskimo and make any random person feel like the most desirable one in the world in a split second. The second face is business partners with the first, the one who will throw a wrench in the competitor’s works. Very quickly, then, it switches from charming to ice-cold. The rogue businessman does not shy away from threats, blackmail or violence. If their fellow men do not offer themselves as a willing part of their solution, they are automatically part of the problem. In the business or working world, there is usually a third face that is supposed to help the career along. Here, one's own grandiosity is touted without restraint and numbers, data and facts are thrown around to simulate competence.
7. Schadenfreude gives them great pleasure
Main characteristic number 1 of bad humans: The misfortune of others puts them in high spirits. Whether minor mishaps or real tragedies and strokes of fate, the manipulators and narcissists among us enjoy seeing others stumble and fall.
8. They’re unpredictable and do not shy away from violence.
This point results from the ones mentioned so far. A person with a black heart would do anything, really anything, to achieve their goals. Criminal machinations are then hardly distinguishable from business practices and rough manners. Even violence in psychological and physical form is not rejected by many of them.
Today’s Conclusion: Run away if you can
Do not even dream that you can do anything against evil people, nevertheless win against them. Those who have no conscience and no empathy or sense of guilt automatically have the upper hand. Having no empathy and no inhibitions unfortunately also means knowing no limits. That's it for today.
