When It’s Not Your Body, but Your Soul That’s Tired!
It is a software, not a hardware problem. We can think of our soul as a wonderful drive program that powers us and always provides all the answers before we ask the questions. It knows the way and the destination, past, present and future. If the soul falls ill, the rest of us also feel listless and as though mummified. Many physical symptoms actually have completely different reasons, which will not be found in a medical context. So for this article only, we'd like to introduce you to 10 signs that it's not your body that needs time off, but your soul.
You don't have an answer to the question, "How are you?"
Hardly anyone these days still adheres to the unwritten small talk rule of answering "Thank you, good!" to the standard question about how you're feeling under any circumstances. In the past, people knew that this question was not meant seriously and that they could not expect an honest answer. Today it is different. The increasing loneliness of people makes them wear their hearts on their sleeves. They then use every opportunity that presents itself to get their grief off their chest. The situation is different for people whose souls are already brittle and porous from exhaustion, like old parchment paper. They are simply overwhelmed with this question and do not know the answer. The state they are in is indescribable. It manifests itself physically, and at the same time they feel very clearly that the real problem lies much deeper.
Emotional ups and downs are the order of the day.
We may imagine our soul like the resting pool inside us. The one who is immortal and omnipresent manages this without any problems under good conditions. It filters our feelings and lets us feel life, not just sense it. If it is practically out of order, or only just functioning at idle, all emotions can pass its checkpoint unhindered. Anger, rage, sadness, fear and hysterical outbursts are then no longer uncommon. Those who are completely out of balance mentally become victims of their own emotional world. There are then no more happy or at least content days, but only a constant up and down of emotional lapses.
Even among many people you feel lonely.
Loneliness is generally a condition that can afflict us anytime and anywhere. Being surrounded by many people does not automatically mean feeling loved, accepted, and belonging to the group. It is therefore not surprising that in a state of mental exhaustion we experience social interaction as a burden rather than a joy. People then wring the last of our energy reserves from us and we can no longer derive any joy from their company. The soul is the center of our joy of life. When it is closed, it becomes difficult to enjoy people or activities that used to mean a lot to us.
No sleep in the world can give you rest.
A clear indication that you are dealing with mental, not physical, exhaustion is your sleep pattern. If we are simply physically exhausted and at the end of our rope, a few hours of sleep are often enough to make us feel fit again. But if you don't want to get out of bed at all, and hour after hour of sleep doesn't give you any rest, the problem is not the outer shell. If this scenario reminds you suspiciously of the characteristics of depression, you are right. Mental states of emergency can be the door openers for such gloomy episodes.
Jealousy, envy and bitterness torment you.
Those who are at peace with themselves and their world do not wish anyone unhappiness or pain. Not so with people who have just reached a mental and emotional low point. They are emotionally so out of sorts and physically so exhausted that negative traits have free rein and easy play. If we then see happy people, lovers, or other pleasing things in this state of emergency, these images literally make us jump out of our skin. True to the motto, if things go badly for us, they should also go badly for everyone else, we then plow through everyday life like our evil, destructive twin.
Every movement is one too many.
Exhaustion makes us want to move even less. Our muscle mass thus atrophies, our joints stiffen, our entire musculoskeletal system desires to enter a state of rigor mortis just so we don't have to function.
Looking into the future scares you.
If the soul has temporarily disengaged from your life, looking ahead is simply too much. If we dare to look ahead, everything we see in the future is gloomy and frightening. Our thoughts only revolve around catastrophes and other negative scenarios that pose a single threat to us.
Panic attacks haunt you.
They come hand in hand with fears about the future and depressive moods. If lack of sleep and poor nutrition, as well as massive mood swings complete the picture, the road to a solid panic attack is not far away. With them, our body pulls the emergency brake, so to speak, when total overload on all levels is imminent.
You are disoriented and constantly distracted.
Among other things, our soul acts as a silent but very reliable compass in our lives. It chooses the direction in which things should go for us and ideally lets us set the right priorities. If it is in balance, we can concentrate excellently on our daily business and are one with our little world. If the soul suffers, our ability to concentrate and our productivity also suffer. We can then hardly grasp a clear thought, let alone put it into action.
Diffuse pains and tensions torment you.
Back pain, migraine, neck tension, annoying pulling in the joints and the feeling of staggering through the day like a zombie, these are all physical symptoms that can underlie mental causes. TCM and Ayurveda, for example, have known for a very long time that body and soul are to be understood as a unit. Both work together, but can also turn against each other in case of illness. Your soul has no sense of pain comparable to that of your body. It must find other ways to make itself heard.
Today’s Conclusion
When the soul asks the body for help. Our soul is immortal, but not indestructible. Whoever tramples it underfoot and does not give it the necessary attention and care will soon realize that we humans do not consist of only one body. By the way, the soul itself always consults this body when it itself is at a loss. Its hands are tied when it comes to sending out cries for help and distress signals. So our body does its utmost to gain our attention. It will torture us on behalf of the soul with insomnia, pain, and a complete system failure until we listen to ourselves and recognize where the real sore spot is. Give your soul a detox cure, send it on vacation, or at least give it some time off. Let it breathe and make yourself aware of it. Without it we are only a shell. It is the divine spark that fills it with life. That's it for today.
