THIS Is How YOU Can Tell It’s Not Your Body That’s Exhausted, It’s Your Psyche!

In modern society, chronic fatigue has become a serious condition. More than 20 percent of people complain of constant fatigue and strong feelings of exhaustion. Only in the rarest cases are physical causes responsible for this. Rather, it is a mental fatigue, something that can strongly affect your life. However, it’s not always obvious whether only the body or the psyche is exhausted. In this article, we'll introduce you to eight sure signs that indicate mental exhaustion.

1. Fatigue after restful sleep.

One of the surest signs that your exhaustion is due to mental causes is when you're tired despite getting enough sleep. Typically, between six and eight hours of sleep a day is recommended. Only in rare exceptional cases should longer periods of sleep be necessary. If your sleep was basically restful, but you still feel tired and exhausted early in the morning, it is usually due to deep psychological symptoms. The result is lack of motivation. You have to overcome yourself to do the simplest activities, because chronic fatigue makes all activities seem exhausting. Most of the time there are numerous smaller problems behind this phenomenon, things that occupy you the whole day and especially in the evening before you go to sleep, for example. In this case, your head can’t switch off and does not renew its energy supply by resting at night.

2. Changing emotions.

Do you feel happy and content one moment, but a few minutes later you are overcome by a feeling of dejection? Do you suffer from rapidly and frequently changing emotions? This is a very clear sign that your psyche is exhausted. Many people who complain of such changing moods blame it on fears about the future. No matter if they are about financial, health or private matters, worries are constantly present and cause negative feelings. These can overtake the current emotional state at any time and thus cause sudden fluctuations in feelings. Often, constant external pressure is a cause of these anxieties. Will you manage to make your partner happy? Will you be able to meet the demands of your job? Does your appearance and demeanor meet the demands of society? Through such questions, the present moment and all positive experiences are completely neglected and suppressed.

3. Your true feelings are hidden.

Do you feel tired, exhausted and depressed? Yet you always show yourself cheerful and energetic to your friends and relatives? Of course, it’s often difficult to admit your true feelings and to admit weakness in any way. It’s easier to hide negative feelings if they occur only rarely, rather than a permanent condition. This is because you automatically assume that no one wants to find out how bad you really are, because society expects us to be in a good mood and full of motivation at all times. Deviating from this expectation labels us as failures and outsiders. This thinking is unfortunately widespread, but not entirely true. At least show certain, select people your true feelings so that you can engage with them on a deep level.

4. Constant lack of motivation.

Lack of motivation can have many causes. Of course, one of them is physical fatigue. However, if your lack of motivation develops into the norm, it can be assumed that mental exhaustion is responsible. There are typically several factors that cause such a strong lack of motivation. Usually a self-imposed pressure to succeed is one of these factors. Such-and-such work still has to be done, you still have to study more for the exam and so on. In addition, there are many other things: the household has to be taken care of, you should cook something fresh so that you eat healthy and besides, there is exercise to be done. There are also friends and family who need attention. This omnipresent pressure leads to overload, which subsequently causes general motivation to disappear.

5. Daydreaming and escaping reality.

Most people have to lead a life that does not fully correspond to their wishes and ideas. Nevertheless, it is important to come to terms with this state and try to steer life in more fulfilling directions. However, this requires self-reflection and a lot of effort. Often, therefore, a temporary answer is to lose oneself in daydreams in order to escape reality. In this way, it is possible to escape the negative emotions, at least for a short time. However, the gap between desire and reality is thus only made more apparent and the disappointment about one's own life and concurrent mental fatigue only grow. The best way to break this vicious circle is to change something in life for the better, taking the first step towards the fulfillment of dreams.

6. Loneliness.

When you are faced with negative emotions day after day, withdrawal is often the logical consequence. After all, what's the point of bothering other people with your own problems? Isn't it enough if you feel bad? But this self-chosen withdrawal is not the only reason for isolation and loneliness. Frequent mood swings and outbursts of emotion can also cause people close to you to increasingly distance themselves from you. The resulting feeling of loneliness is compounded by distorted perceptions and is a clear sign of a heavy workload and the exhaustion of your mind.

7. Negative feelings dominate.

How often in the past few weeks have you thought or said that many things in your life, in society, or even among friends or acquaintances are bad? Your job is not fulfilling and poorly paid, your best friend is acting stupid and unreflective, future prospects are miserable anyway, and we don't even want to talk about the current political situation at this point. Such a focus on everything negative in your own environment clearly shows that your soul needs a breather. However, you can consciously counteract this point by realizing all the good things you have in your life. Friends who are there for you, family, a great apartment and much more.

8. Hiding from other people.

When your soul is particularly exhausted, you often want to hide from everyone else. The whole world is against you, they'd best leave you alone. Yet you need to communicate with other people constantly, both professionally and personally. But these conversations always come at the wrong time and are unwanted. They lead to further increasing mental exhaustion. It can be a good solution to switch off completely for a day or two and cut off contact with the world. For this purpose, however, cell phones and the Internet should be consciously pushed aside. After such a short time-out, however, one should consciously seek contacts again, because permanent isolation is not a solution, but massively intensifies both the causes and the symptoms of mental exhaustion.

Our conclusion

Based on these eight points, you can tell if your psyche and mind are exhausted. If this is the case, you should by no means despair. You are in good company, because a large proportion of people feel such tiredness again and again throughout their lives. It is a well-known fact that awareness is the first step to improvement. Give your soul a little break from everyday life and then try to approach your life renewed with positive thoughts full of energy.
